Okay, we had to get to school extra early, ( say, 6:00a. ), so we could drop off our luggage and instruments and all that.
Around ten, all of us went back to the Orchestra room and wait for roll call, which, the teacher only called out her Varsity 3, the top orchestra, list.
So we sat around and waited in the room. Yup, waited in the room. For how long, I'd guess about fourty five minutes. There was some sort of delay going on.
Some of us managed to get out of the room and go to where we dropped off our luggage ( They were in these practice rooms ) to get our carry on's.
The Band Secretary, Patty, was there. And she wasn't so happy. She was yelling and screaming because there were some guys that were loading the stuff, and we didn't want them to. So as we tried to go in the room to get our stuff, she was yelling and trying to 'herd' us out.
This probably went on for fifteen minutes, and by then, everything had somewhat settled down and everyone was somewhat happy with their items.
So after I had gotten my stuff, they said that I could go on the bus. And this bus, it was great. Nice and big and roomy inside. Well, when it's empty.
I grabbed two seats for me and Jessica and waited for her to get her stuff to get on the bus.
Now, everyone was on this nice bus and all of a sudden, it wasn't as nice and big and roomy any more. It was kinduv cramped, especially when you wanted to try and relax, and the person infront of you is putting the back of their chair in your lap.
Well, not LITTERALLY in my lap, but you know what I mean. It was really hard for me because I'm part of the medium-sized/taller people in the bus, and my legs are long. Long and wobbly, just like Bambi. @_@ I had hardly any room to put them. Jessica, she's short. She had all the room she wanted and couldn't understand why I was so uncomfortable for moments at a time.
Then Ms. Patty was yelling at us and had all the girls get off to go to the bathroom, even if they didn't have to go.
This building that my orchestra room is in only has one bathroom area. And how many bathrooms were IN this bathroom? Two. Two toliets and two sinks in both the boy's and girl's bathroom.
Guu. That took forever and a day.
I was one of the last to come back, but I didn't get on the bus right away. I let the boys who were being forced off get out of the bus, then saw Julian.
Julian's one of my friends since, I guess forever. ( Maybe 7th grade. )
His grades really suck, I'm serious, he makes mine look so wonderful, and their not. o.o So that's why he couldn't come on this trip. ( That, and he didn't go to Solo/Ensemble the FIRST time, so he couldn't go anyway. )
We talked for a while and he hugged me goodbye, 'be safe, don't get lost or in trouble, try not to get hurt' and all that Goodbye, I'll Miss You stuff.
So then I got back on the bus before the large group of boys were back from the restrooms.
Then we were off!
We had the rules laid out for us by Mr. Gourly, the guy that was supposed to be my accompianist ( I'll explain later why I want to take a knife and kill that bastard later. *cough* ).
We were forced to watch movies the whole way up.
It seemed to take forever for the first movie to end, and even the second and third were like forever and an hour.
I had this weird thing going on where I'd check Jessica's watch and it'd only be a half-hour past. That went on the whole trip.
I was really restless, couldn't stand or move, because I was stuck in the window seat.
Which was okay, when there was more than just sand and rocks to look at.We stopped once to go to the bathroom.
The girls were all in line, I'm not lying. The line was outside of the double doors of the back of the grocery store we were in.
Then I noticed the guy's room. The line was about two guys, and when the person came out, it was a girl! O.O What an idea.
So I stood in line with my little squirmy self and one guy said I could go before him.
^.^ So nice. So as I waited in line for the other guy to come out, some other guys came in line and were like, "Why is SHE in OUR line?"
Then one said, "She has a penis."
So I said a few swear words mixed in with a couple of threats and educated words to shut them all up. Stupid guys.
Some of the girls 'merged' into the line as well so it went boy, girl, boy, girl.
I finally got to go ( Finally, the boy ahead of me took forever. The meany. @_@; ) and bought some food, a soda which I had been craving foor since before the trip, and loaded the bus once again with a sigh of 'oh-no, not this again.'
We left on time. This time, there were some things to see.
We passed some really large and pretty-kind of lake, something with a W I think. I can't remember, ah-hah.. but it was nice. We saw some ducks, deer-things, horses, rabbits.. I swear I saw a wild cat, but I could be wrong.
Then we stopped around three hours later to eat dinner at either Arby's or Taco Bell.
^_^ Kaichan went to Taco Bell. Yes, with some of my friends and THAT line was more than long. It was like a quest to even dare to battle to get in line.
But Chris had managed to get up front, so he said to give him our money and orders, and he'll just get it all. ^_^ So nice.
I caught a table with room for all eight of us and idly swung my feet while talking to Jen ( I.E. "Tomo-chan" ) ( She calls me Ed-chan. Ah-hah. o_O; ).
I think I was just bored, but I called Andy on Mom's cell phone ( she let me take it ). At first he was a little 'It's just you' like. He was watching a movie, but he then said it was worth it to get to talk to me and my friends.
Yep, I passed the phone around and people talked to him. ................ While teasing me.
@_@ I hate being teased and I blush wheen I do. No lies.
So they thought I was blushing because of Andy, but I wasn't. Really. o_O'
I started to throw ice at them whenever they'd make a comment. @_@;
Finally we ate and said Goodbye/Goodnight to Andy and were on the road again.
We arrived in Carson City and was welcomed by snow.
Yep! Snow!! I was so excited that I was leaping around in the hardly-falling snow.
Gathered our things and trucked up the slippery stairs to our hotel rooms. ( Best Western hotels... their rooms are... alright, I guess. )
Jannette, Angela, and I shared a room and Jannette got a bed to herself.
I learned how to play poker and we had snow ball fights with the guys.
One time, Carlos knocked on our door and Jannette answered and she got a face full of snow.
Oh, she was revengeful. And that she did get.
Jannette had taken a cup and filled it with warm/hot water. Angela and I had convinced him to come here and then we dashed inside as he came. We waited and he knocked on the door and Jannette answered it with a bare crack and threw the water on him.
He yelled and we shut the door quickly. After knocking on it forever ( we had cut off the lights ^^' ), he left to change.
Lights out was at eleven, and we went to sleep around twelve with the heater on high.
Angela and I woke up at two in the morning sweating. She turned the cool air on instead of the heater and we went back to sleep.
Only for me to wake up two hours later with the worst cramps ever in the back of my shin ( my calf, is it called? ).
It went away about a half hour later through tears and mutters from me ( It hurt that bad, you guys. @_@; ) and I went back to sleep.
Only for an hour because we got a wake up call around 5:30.
I slept right through it and Jannette had taken her pillow and slammed it on the side of Angela's head.
The noise was loud and Angela's swearing was only louder. That all made me jump up to a sitting-up position. @_@
I tried standing, but to no avail as I fell back to the bed. The cramp in my leg had really left a pain when I walked. But I managed to shove that pain away and walk around a bit.
So after that, we took our showers and loaed our stuff, then ate a continental breakfast. ( Aka it's free )
After THAT, we went on the bus again to confusion.
No one knew where to go, as everyone was split up in groups. Vocal, Strings, Percussion, and Band.
All at different areas. Mostly churches. We were at a private Church/School thing for little tiny kids. They were so adorable!
I swear, I scared a few o.O..... I DIDN'T MEAN TO!!! >_<
We had Carson City at our feet, or so we thought.
They let us loose around eight at our designated places and we were free until four in the afternoon.
It started out boring and full of chaos. There wasn't a place to practice until I had moved out into the hall with a tiny kid's chair and finally just sat and played. People saw that this worked out better than wrestling others for chairs or areas to practice and pretty soon, everyone was evened out in places to play.
Then... a voice had brought me out of my concentration. 'Well, well. If it isn't Jennifer Devine. I haven't seen you for ages.'
I just knew who it was by the mere tone of his voice. Jeremy. ^_^;; I hadn't seen him since the last day of 8th grade.
A cute litte Asian teen that holds this confidence in him to make him seem like he's superior. But he's not really all that stuck-up. Actually, he isn't at all. o_O; It was just fun to see him and we played our pieces for eachother, talked, hugged, then he left.
I had his cell phone number, so it's just great.
I practiced for about an hour more, put away my cello and Jannette, Carlos, and I set out to the streets of Carson City in search of some more breakfast.
Five blocks down ( I've never had so much freedom in my life! I was so... happy! So.. estatic!! I was really just running around happily. Mom never lets me just GO five blocks down anywhere! O.O... ^_^;;; ) we found refuge at a McDonalds.
Everyone's so nice in Carson City. It's just really a nice, small town. ( But I'll always love my Vegas City )
We ate and set out again to travel back and that's when it happened.
My once stable, Bambi-like legs had failed. I started tripping everywhere. I was holding a cold drink and went to go throw it away at the doors of a Rite Aid, because it was cold, and it was only making my hands colder due to the chilly wind.
I walked with balance until the middle of the parking lot when SLAM! I fell. Quickly. It was like I just collapsed and died.
I landed hard on my knee, the bad one that'll hurt so bad that I can barely walk, and then just fell to my chest.
The rest of my drink went everywhere, and Jannette and Carlos ran over to me.
My knee hurt. Very badly did it hurt. I slowly turned and sat up, moving away part of my pants ( they have two slits on both legs, the slits go up to my waist on both sides. It's like they took two pair of pants, left one alone and cut the other's legs up the sides until the waist band, then put the two together. These are my favorite pants, I love them so much. ) and there's two torn holes in them. I didn't see the huge abrasion on my knee.
So as I limped back to the Church with my two friends, I had constantly tripped on the way.
I was in a lousy mood, really, I was. I laid back and closed my eyes on a couch that was in one of the rooms and tried to sleep.
When I felt a stinging feeling of pain on my knee, I lifted back the pants and blinked.
There was the weirdest thing I had ever seen. I even poked it a few times.
Probably the size of a dollar coin, was just this mark. It had blood on it, but it wasn't even wiping off. It was so weird.
I winced as my knee would start up and randomly sting in pain and twitch.
The pain from the cramp and now my knee didn't help.
I didn't get any sleep and now all I was hearing was that Mr. Gourly was not here.
I grabbed my cello and practiced as some people went through panic. Their accompianist wasn't here.
Angela's time was up to play. I put away my spiffy new cello and went in to watch her.
She went acoustic. No accompianist, why? Because the idiot was not here.
I was after her. I played the same piece ( Since we both did Gavotte ) and was pissed.
Mr. Gourly was PAID to be here to play for us.
When I saw him next, it was when he was playing for Jannette.
He screwed up. Badly.
He messed up Jannette's once beautifuly done piece and made it a massacre.
How come, you may ask. It was because he hadn't praticed his part.
It was his job to be there, it was his job to practice the music he needed to know, and it was HIS job to accompany us. The pieces he GOT right, he made it seem like HE was the star and we were to follow -him-.
Jannette was pissed. We went to a shuttle bus to get a ride to the other church to listen to some vocals sing.
We were there just in time to see one vocal girl sing with TEN cello accompianments. It was beautiful.
We came back and met with Jessica, Ericson, and some new boy that I didn't know. His name's Geraldo and he is spiffy. A sophomore and he's just... like some sort of human pillow. o.O; I swear.. he either just wears really soft clothing, or he's just a comfortable person because he's so much fun to just hug onto o.O;; He let anyone hug onto his arm, and that's what I did for a while o_O; It was fun, especially when my poor Bambi legs would fail on my and I'd trip. He'd stumble, too, and say some weird comment. So yes, we walked back down to the McDonalds. The lady we had before recognized us and we talked for a while before sitting back down to eat lunch.
We laughed and talked and laughed even more. It was great fun.
On the way back we just sort of were talking about home and it was nice. I tripped only THREE ( Hehe @_@ ) times.
Soon enough, it was four in the afternoon. I had a total of THREE ( ahah ) falls and millions of trips ( I lost count after 20 ). We gathered our things and went on a shuttle to the Community Center to listen to the people who were the best in each section. This was called Commanding Preformances.
Our scores were also there. I found out I had recieved a 2+, which is the same as a 1-. If the judge had said I gotten a 1-, I would have recieved a medal. But I still feel proud of how I played. ^_^;
We listened to them, and more than half were from my school. ^_^! At times I'd almost fall asleep on Geraldo's shoulder, but he'd nudge me or something and I'd sit back up or just open my eyes and nudge him back.
Jannette, oh Lordy, she sat infront of us and would sometimes just do something funny as they played. Quiet movements, she'd sometimes look at the person a chair away from her ( as there was her, an empty seat, then Chris ) suggestively or lick her lips over dramaticly and that'd just make us hold back laughter at the poor unsuspecting Chris. He finally looked over to her, only to make me squeak back some laughs and they pretended to smoke some drug and acted weird. It was just really funny @_@;
Afterwards we went back on the bus.
Only to hear that Traci, someone on our bus, had fell earlier and hurt her arms badly. They took her to the UMC Quick Care to get X-Rays. But do you think they'd have an X-Ray machine? No. So she was rushed to the hospital.
This set us back a bit, and we weren't allowed to leave the bus to see her.
We waited for a while until it was decided that she'd be taken back later and we were to go now.
So the bus left for Jack In The Box and there we ate and laughed and threw things like a closed ranch dressing thing, or some fries and ketchup packets.
Jen/Tomo-Chan had stepped on the ranch with her boot and it crushed the poor ranch thing... and some ranch had splattered. At times she'd just look down at it while eating and just shake her head and say 'I wish I had a camera..'
It looked funny @_@;; Really, it did.
Then we loaded the buy once more to go to Vegas. No stops. I got to sit next to Geraldo and we shared my pillow while trying to sleep and watch a movie at the same time. How uncomfortable =. The movie ended and I checked the clock on the cell phone and we had about seven hours left. Joy. Geraldo told me to stop looking at the clock or it'll just make it seem longer and I put away the cell phone, turning it off.
So we finally tried to sleep with all the lights off.
D.J. was snoring a few seats behind us, it was hilarious because Jannette was trying to throw a Cheez-It in his mouth, but she missed.
Mark even hit D.J. on the cheek with the back of his hand softly, the arm, and even messed with his hair gently, but he remained asleep.
Then things settled down and Geraldo finally made me put his sweater and my shawl on his lap and rest my head there to sleep. @_@ And I did. For a few hours, I guess. We'd wake up a few times and talk quietly before falling asleep again.
We came back to Vegas at three. Way earlier than we suspected. I called Mom and she wasn't there. No one was.
They were out shopping at Wal-Mart.
@_@ Arriving at the school at three thirty, people slowly had left until only I was left. Mom and Gramma finally appeared at four and I limped over to put my stuff in the car and hug both of them.
They thanked Patty for staying with me and I crawled into the van and tried sleeping.
We drove home and then Mom showed me a few things they had bought for me. Three things of very pretty flowers ( Not a boquet, but in nifty little pot things ), a sketch pad, two stationary things of rainbow papers, and a dolphin set-up with a note pad in it.
I also received a cute card with twenty dollars! ^_^;
I showed them my battle wound on my knee and took a half of a pill of Mom's muscle relaxer. We put on neosporin and some other gel-like thing that'd take away the stinging pain.
My fishies were happy to see me and Lil Bit, my kitty, was estatic. She ran around the house happily. I swear, she's the smartest cat. ^_^; She really did just run around and lay on me and purr and meow and all that stuff.
I passed out once I had laid down and that was about.. five.
And here I am! I just woke up about.. a half hour ago and I'm still very tired. Again, I can barely walk from my knee, it only seems to be getting worse, both the pain in my calf and the huge mark that is now the size of a fifty cent piece because a bruise had formed around the abrasion. It looks really nasty. @_@ So yes... Nine hours on a bus both ways is exhausting.
^_^; I did miss you all, and I'm glad to be back in Vegas! ^_^ It's not cold and it's just so nice! ^_^'' Now I need to order pizza, but I'll get on to see who's here and who's not here.
Ja!
